Waterhole Kwa Maritane
Kwa Maritane - description
The waterhole is located in the Pilanesberg National Park.
The Pilanesberg National Park is located in the northwestern part of South Africa, near the Sun City entertainment complex, in an extinct volcanic crater in one of the world's largest volcanic complexes, suggesting that the landscape is mostly hilly. There is a large number of animal species in this relatively small park. you can see rhinos, cheetahs, giraffes, antelopes, buffaloes, zebras etc…

4.10. -time 11.20- old hippo female? 18.20.- if she is, there is a lion on her 🙁
Good evening Marcelo, unfortunately I read at the cottage that "our" female hippopotamus died yesterday 🙁 It is now fresh food for lions.
Good evening Petro, thank you for the answer, I thought so 🙁 🙁 It's very sad, the watering hole was so empty today 🙁
You're welcome, I saw elephants and zebras besides lions today at the watering hole. It's sad, I cheered for the female hippo. Hyenas and vultures can now be expected to be there, unless the conservation team removes the dead female.

24.4 - 12:20 herd of elephants in the watering hole, 13:10 antelopes - Impalas, 13:30 zebras, it's pretty lively here today 🙂 Otherwise I learned in the cottage that our hippo is an old female 🙂

Have a nice day Petro, the hippopotamus is still there. It seemed to my ear that moved a little, but maybe it was just a camera error - is it common for him to lie motionless for so many hours? At night, ducks sat on it, like on a rock. Those eyes - somehow I don't think so, but not to scare me again.
Hello Marcelo, he left at 8:45. Hippos commonly lie in mud and water, especially overnight. They were often seen at the Djuma watering hole and here they are on camera every day by the river - https://www.zoocam.info/afrika/
