Osprey - webcam from nests in Estonia
Orlovec river - description
Webcam from the nest orlovce říční offers a view of two occupied nests. We recommend turning on the sound, orbits often show sharp whistles, typical for them.
The Orlovec River is a medium-sized bird from the orbital family. It achieves lengths 55-58 centimeters. The wingspan is 145-170 centimeters. Orlovec lives mostly in the vicinity of the sea coast, the lakes and larger rivers. Its food consists of 99% of fish that fish on the water surface. Nest orbits often occupy other birds of prey that are placed on the highest trees. Both parents, but above all the females, sit on the eggs. The male feeds on the nest. Orlovci sits on eggs 35 to 38 days. Young orbits from the nest fly out at the age of 50 to 60 days.

The larger, darker chick in the upper nest is the large aggressor. It often attacks smaller pups. A moment ago he was bitten again in the back, until the young were paralyzed by the attack again. The female from the lower nest has been leaving the young for a long time since yesterday. He often returns with a twig, probably feeling the need to raise the edges of the nest. Yesterday, when the wind was strong, the branch with the nest tilted so that the visible horizon and the top of the dead tree disappeared. She was gone for at least 1/2 hour, returned to the nest, fed the rest of the fish and flew away again 🙁. Now she came back with a twig, she just wanted “stronger... read more
A nice day, 10: 30 Catch up windy, cloudy, relative comfort, the cubs lie next to the female. Down a little under the cloud, the cub again in the nest, desperately calling, a couple in the background in the background. In 8: 30 Catch, maybe under the influence of yesterday's events, it occurred in a dry tree in the background to mating :).
And wondering where the males are sleeping are at least somewhere nearby?
He's starting to blow up again. The bottom nest has to face so many difficulties. Please keep it in mind.
Today's news is so sad. Week of life in the case of a young chick. Is not there a chance he would survive rescuing him? I still have to think about it. I'm sorry I did not make a scree of how the chicks sat in the nest next to each other and waited for my meal. She was cute and funny. I'm sorry, too, the females and the males, maybe they were also shocked out of the events, so the female left the nest for so long. Yet yesterday they defended the nest against the invader and now this. At least, the bigger the younger the wind stood. Whatever comments are coming.
Finally, she returned after an hour. I was a little relieved. Too bad you can't return the record like above. For example, Jenda or Petra Chlumecká will write what happened between 10 and 11 happened.
At 11: 17 was such a strong gust of wind that it thrust a younger cub to the edge of the nest, managed to get back under the female, it came to 11: 20 another strong wind that was not even a female and thrown it with young, smaller Unfortunately, the young man jumped out of the nest.
Jesus, that's sad, yet I didn't see it…. I'm still sad about it… but unfortunately, that's life.
I'm sorry, too. As somebody wrote here, he was a small and cute warrior. Thank you for answer.
It is incomprehensible that the female pups in the lower nest have abandoned such a situation that they are not protecting them. It's gone for an hour, the young can squeeze and threaten to fall out of the nest. Where did her motherly instincts and instincts remain? Or did it prevail over her self-preservation instinct? Upper female supervisor.
It is, in the lower nest, there is only a bigger young one and crying heartily. The smaller is gone. The female is about min. 35 min. outside the nest. An incomprehensible parenting couple probably sits on a dry tree at the back. I'm afraid that the other will not fall. He tries to call someone and sometimes move closer to the edge to see if someone is coming back. I can not even take my eyes off the monitor as I try to keep the youngster in the nest. A moment later he got a bit higher and the wind blew him back, lay somewhat on his back.
So he really isn't there, I don't see him, I guess it happened, the way the big wind was, so he didn't hold on… .. it's a pity and very sad - he was such a little one and he really fought and fought for his life… .. it's sad ….
What happened to the little one in the second nest? Today only one youngster is seen.
It happened what I was afraid of. The mother from the bottom nest flew away and the wind / probably, I did not see it / picked it up the little baby. There is only one. It's sad.
I look into the bottom of my nest and I can not see the other cub. According to comments, 17.6 was last seen. around 9hod.
It had to happen now, in 15 minutes. My mother was gone before, but both of them were there. I did not watch for a quarter hour.
So sorry, the latest info about the smallest is from 17.24hod. Has anyone seen it today?
The two nests are pretty good. Mothers have something to hold on. Maybe they're better off hiding.
At the moment, both nests are empty, with small ones throwing it - horror…. hopefully moms will be back soon.
In the morning, a big fight with the wind and the rebelling of the klacks. They do not even have a lot of interest in feeding.
The wind is terrible, I hope it will withstand both nests….
Hooray, today, after a long time, finally feeding in the lower nest, the little one is fine, demanding fish and getting. Mom is a little selfish, first she eats and a big cub, and then she gets a kid, but I think it's okay…. was nicely lively…. so great :-)))
That would be good. Just try. Let us all hold our fingers.
In the lower nest, feeding takes place again and everything is fine…. finally dad is trying a little harder… ..
It seems to me that there is a predator around the lower nest today. After a while, I can still hear a male in the background, who flew to the nest when the female decided to fly through the rain. He spread his wings, probably made himself bigger ("made his shoulders" - another steady saying inspired by nature) and made a sound that was sometimes heard in the background.
You don't think so, a "intruder" of the same species is actually flying around the lower nest today.
So it's raining downstairs again, it's raining all day, females don't have it easy… ..
The woman is back again and again, but it was nervous.
Some threat on the horizon. The nest is guarded by a male. A bigger bird in the background.
Watching helped me think about the turn used, "take someone under your wing," which is just going down. It's a downpour downstairs, and the female has returned.
In the lower nest, the younger youngster is still terribly malucky. When feeding is often a mother's mother so I can not see if he divides fairly, but it seems that the younger one will not get much to the mouth.
Hi, it's a fact, he gets fewer portions and he falls a lot to the ground. But he keeps, so we keep his fingers crossed 🙂
I just watched feed in the bottom nest, and the younger cub was not even trying to get up, it just lashes, 3 is the difference between the youngsters, but it is still very small, apparently going to be sick.
Here is a better link to the camera of the first nest - it is better to see there…

It used to feed a smaller chick preferentially, but since I saw the last feeding, it gets bigger. But when he has enough, then only the smaller is fed again. Growth will probably not catch up with the delay, but perhaps they will both be "hooked" in the end.
I like how well, disciplinedly the young are behaving while feeding in the lower nest.
Oh yeah at the two is feeding only the big one, the little one does not have a chance, I can not watch it's sad.
A special experience between about 17: 00-17: 15 CET. The male upstairs brought fresh, whole, large fish. The female has started feeding, in contrast to the female below, she feeds the larger young preferentially. The fish doesn't want to come to terms with fate (I'm not even surprised, death by tearing alive, who would like it) and so he laughs. Although without a larger part of the head, it frees itself from the grip of the claws and ends up with the young. He keeps frowning. The female is surprised and just watches the fish. The larger chick "gets a bout of aggression" and bites the smaller chick into the back, followed by the flapping fish. The smaller cub is completely paralyzed and huddled for some time. Hello, so today feeding in both nests cool :-))))
Thank you to everyone who participates in this site, and for professional comments. Every day I follow the development of the smallest of the lower nest and I keep my fingers crossed for it - its fight is simply touching. Because I can't watch what happens during the day, I am also happy for comments from the course of the day.
These are wonderful shots with the setting sun. I'm afraid I can not use the screenshot. Beautiful spectacle.
Hello, find the PrtSc button on the keyboard to get the screenshot). If you ask me to ask me [email protected] and I'll send you a step-by-step step-by-step guide.
I tried it but it did not happen at all. I have Win 10, maybe it is not, or it is not activated. Moreover, at my advanced age I am no expert but I will try and send you a question.
It is equally amazing to follow the relationships and behavior of animals. ED or E0 arrived to see the offspring and improve the nest. The female woman was able to discuss family matters :).
Upstairs, for the first time, I see dinner together at 4 - everyone feeds.
Now I watched how aggressive the larger chick from the upper nest was. Both are still to taste, and when the female stands, she spins behind her to see if there will be a bastion. The smaller one, however, was hindered "in flight" and so it stings it nicely. And they are hot in the sun. Fresh fish in the lower nest.
Hello, rivalry is considerable among youngsters. We saw her both in the Bald Eagle's nest and the Eagle's Sea.
Is super. He's really getting better. Upstairs is lunch and downstairs after a while the call is about 13:30 CET as well. And he stayed with his family for a while. The smaller one is hard. Literally. When an older sibling lies down on it, it is difficult to raise its head to feed. That development is hard work :). But the female is trying. Upstairs "lambada" - they are already handy and quite strong, but papání is a chore :) :), so they nap again with full bellies.
I watched as the fall nest after the last bite was falling into sleep within a second. 🙂
A moment ago, it seemed that the female felt threatened. A bigger bird was flying around. I do not know if they have a predator? A male arrived at her call and seemed to protect her.
So, in my opinion, it could be another Orlovec, or there may also be species of Orl in this area (eg the Sea Eagle)
