A large part of our fellow citizens are watching live storks who have been nestling on the ridge of the roof of the church since time immemorial. In cooperation with the Roman Catholic parish of Dubná, we have prepared an extraordinary view for all those interested in the pit nest.

Stork white
Big, long neck and long legs. The body length is 95-110 cm and 180-218 cm wingspan, the male is slightly larger than the female. The weight is in the range of 2,3-4,4 kg. White color is predominant in color, squadrons are black, beak and legs red. Both sexes are colored the same way, the young bird has a darker red beak with a dark tip. In flight, unlike turtles and pelicans, the neck is stretched out.

In this nest you can observe in detail all the life periods of storks from birth from an egg to natural death. So it is possible that broadcasting some shots may seem unethical. In this case, turn off the transmission. Everyone else should watch with the knowledge that everything that happens on this nest happens without the attention of the camera on all other nests and follows the laws of nature, which were not invented by man, and which were here before us. We note that these are wild animals, not domesticated or domesticated animals for which man would be responsible. For this reason, and also because of their legal protection, we do not take into account any incentives to interfere with life on this nest, whether it is feeding, rescuing young or removing dead individuals. Exceptions can only be legally controlled activities performed by authorized persons, such as ringing
The stork's nest in Dubný will be dismantled after the end of this year's nesting season in order to complete the repair of the church roof. At the same time, the nesting pad will be reconstructed and the foundation of a new nest will be laid, which is in charge of the competent nature protection authority. It is therefore unnecessary to intervene or urge the matter in any way.
the nest is so suffocated that when snow or rain comes, storks will not survive again… a few drilled holes in the top crust would help…
