Orlovec River - description
Welcome to the Rachel and Stevo nest on the Hog Island
near the coastal state of Maine, USA.
The Orlovec River is a medium-sized bird from the orbital family. It achieves a length of 55-58 centimeters. The wingspan is 145-170 centimeters. Orlovec lives predominantly in the vicinity of the sea coast, the lakes and larger rivers. Its food consists of 99% of fish that fish on the water surface. Nest orbits often occupy other birds of prey that are placed on the highest trees. Both parents, but above all the females, sit on the eggs. The male feeds on the nest. Orlovci sits on eggs 35 to 38 days. Young orbits from the nest fly out at the age of 50 to 60 days.

3.8. 13: 10 The young eagle Halley flew out of the nest!
The Osprey cub just dared to fly to his parent's branch for the first time, great.
1.8. Halley is practicing, he will fly away soon
31.7. 11: 37 CET Steve brought a live fish, she hurried on her nest before Rachel took it, occasionally feeding her chick… .Today Halley has 54 days. The first flight is usually between 55 and 60 days of age. Halley is busy training…
26.7 UPDATE Please read the Executive Director's words on the nesting situation of Rachel and Steve Dear Osprey friends: The sad loss of the eagle Dion is again a reminder of the strength and speed of the eagle owl. I was hoping that our plan for deterrence with dummies would give chick a chance to survive, but owls are likely to get used to the presence of dummies, although we regularly moved them and changed their costumes over the last three weeks since their first 2 deployment. July. To add more deterrence around the nest, we added a sound element in the evening. If someone listens attentively, a record of the previous Explore.org interview with dr. Rob Bierregaard about eagles. Acts... read more

25.7. But not!! In 08: 05 CET - 2: 02 am EDT took the eagle owl one baby out of the nest!
Rachel was on the patrolling branch, but there was nothing she could do. It happened too fast.
It is not yet clear which chick was taken - it seems that it could be Dion.
Amazing Hog Island personnel have taken all the necessary precautions - 3 mannequins under the nest, headlights - in vain, attacks repeat like last year and last year.
… Another this year's “plague” for young eagles .. don't have the chicks of these amazing birds easy!
Here it is Hansel every year… ..beard one baby took a bald eagle a second night owl last year. They had three chicks, two owl took them.
19.7. promised notes and videos - I managed to find something…

… Thanks for the info, the injury is improving, so hopefully it will be good. The male handles it, he's a smuggler! 🙂
No, Rachel was said to have brought the first caught fish into the nest since the injury, so it will be good.
19.7. 12: 05 CET Steve brings the fish, Rachel descends from the patrolling branch to the nest, takes over the fish, which he immediately leaves to the young.
I would say that the female has a very seriously injured one leg. Undoubtedly he can not hunt and has great feeding problems. All food supply, therefore, lies on the male. Fortunately, there are only two chicks! It will be interesting to follow further developments.
Thanks for the warning, I didn't notice, I will try to find information and make a note.
